A defining feature of the Limmud Colorado conference is that presenters are not paid to offer sessions. In keeping with Limmud Colorado's commitment to volunteerism, presenters -- who are themselves participants -- offer their time and expertise to make the conference a success.

Programs For Families and Children:  Camp Limmud and Limmud K'tan

Included in registration are activities and childcare for your children!
·     Limmud K’tan:  For infants and children aged 0-3, we offer babysitting, play, and Jewish activities with professionals and teen assistants.
·     Camp Limmud: For kids ages 4 through 12, Camp Limmud offers age appropriate Limmud activities with a professional educator and trained teen madrichim (counselors); these programs will be divided into age-based groups.

All children’s and family programming kicks off Friday afternoon with a family Kabbalat Shabbat program. Shabbat morning includes a children’s Shabbat service (parents are invited as well – or they can participate in one of the many other Shabbat morning options). Other programming highlights include a storytelling, arts programs, and many other great learning and fun opportunities for children of all ages.

Kids in the Art Stuide

Childcare for infants and young children is a drop-in, no nap facility. The staff consists of trained childcare professionals. Childcare will be available during morning and afternoon sessions. Activities include dance and movement, crafts, stories, and more.

Children's activities are planned between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner. Plus, family programs are offered throughout the weekend for families to work together, create together, and play together.

We are participating in MazelTot, a Rose Community Foundation grant initiative to connect young families to Jewish life and to each other. Twenty-nine Denver/Boulder Jewish agencies and synagogues are receiving grants to offer discounts on programs for expectant parents and families with children under age five. The website mazeltot.org showcases these organizations’ programs and highlights family events on a central calendar. For more information on how you can take advantage of MazelTot discounts, click here.

Conference Venue
We are pleased to return to the scenic campus of University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, where we successfully hosted Limmud Colorado 2009. We enjoyed the opportunity to learn in comfortable and bright session rooms, take advantage of the facilities of a college campus (including a great fitness center and supervised swimming pool), and all within a short drive from the Metro area. The residence halls are organized in suites and include a full bath and small common living area. No more than four people share a suite. Families room together. Click here to see the layout of the suites. This year, the campus is upgrading some of the amenities and we're excited to be returning.

Shabbat at Limmud Colorado
Shabbat at Limmud is a very special and unique time. No matter your background and level of observance, Shabbat is a time to celebrate together in a comfortable atmosphere for all. Limmud Colorado creates an environment conducive to Shabbat observance, including an eiruv (a boundary that transforms public space to private, communal space within which it is permissable for those observant among us to carry during Shabbat). The eiruv is erected around the residential village, including the dining room.

Meals
All meals, beginning with Friday night dinner and running through Monday lunch, are included with your registration. Some snacks are also be served. The meals are kosher, supervised by the Vaad HaKashrus of Denver.*
