Well... we knew we could do it, then we wondered if it would really happen, and now we are really here:  250 people have registered for Limmud Colorado 2009 and our weekend of learning and fun is just around the corner.
For those who are registered, details will be sent soon on what to bring, where to go, and all those other juicy details. For those who haven't registered, please mark your calendars NOW for Memorial Day 2010 - we'd love to see you at Limmud Colorado 2010.
And, now, with 11 days to go til we launch Limmud Colorado 2009, I just want to take a moment to share a story about the phenomenal volunteers who are still working day and night to make Limmud Colorado 2009 a reality. This morning, I'm attending a fabulous session sponsored by GRAB (Grass Roots and Branches), an initiative of Rose Community Foundation, on using social media in our Jewish organizations with presentations by Eliana Schonberg (Co-Team Leader for LimmudCO's programming) and Eric Elkins (Marketing Team member) and others.  The coolest thing is that among the 24 people in this session are at least 6 other Limmud Colorado volunteers!  In fact, as the class walked through tools on Facebook, a few of us continued to instant message and update our LimmudCO pages and news of our amazing registration turn-out for our upcoming conference.  Talk about applying the lessons of the class in real time! It's not only a tribute to the technology - but to the reach that Limmud Colorado has made in its young, two-year existence. Really. Who'd have thought just two years ago that now, in May 2009, we'd walk into a meeting with roughly 20 different Jewish organizations represented and most of the organizations are either sponsors of Kehillah Limmud or have staff who are active volunteers or presenters for Limmud Colorado 2009.
While it's a crazy-busy time as we go through our final preparations, it's nice to step back, look around, and acknowledge how Limmud Colorado has really become an integral part of Colorado's Jewish landscape. Thanks to our founders - thanks to our volunteers - and thanks to all who are getting ready to join us on May 22 for a community-building weekend.  See you soon!
