This evening I had the opportunity to accept a grant from the Rose Youth Foundation for Limmud Colorado that was given to use to expand youth and college programs. This grant is very special because it was awarded by a group of 23 students tasked with granting $50,600 for their 2009 grant cycle.
Limmud Colorado was one of the recipients in the Jewish programs grant area, along with the Mizel Museum and Judaism Your Way, Denvers Road Home, Denver Urban Ministries and Jewish Family Service.
The youth who served on the granting committee were inspiring. Each of them gave of their time (and a lot of it) to make tough decisions and to come to a consensus on how they would distribute more than $50,000.
Limmud is very grateful for the grant that we will be able to use towards our 2010 conference for expanded youth and college programing.
